Description
Magic Arm & Vest with Flycam Pro 6000 Magic Arm & Vest is an equipment made mechanically to fulfil the art of cinematography. It increases elegance of the moving shots and increases the quality of cinematography. The magic vest and arm displaces the weight of the entire camcorder and stabilizer combination over the operator's body. It is light in weight, not overbuilt. The mechanical system of a vest and articulating arm alleviates the physical stress that's otherwise placed upon you by manhandling a stabilizer on your own. If you've ever used a stabilizer, it's a great tool to have for walking shots, but even after a short time it becomes very tiring. The fatigue that's induced by carefully holding a stabilizer and camera at arm's length for extended periods will eventually impact your shooting in a negative way, because the more tired you become, the more attention you devote to that feeling of physical stress. A vest and arm system removes that problem, enabling you to simply "wear the camera" and go all day long. CAMERA IS NOT INCLUDED VIDEOS This system can bear up to 22lbs weight of cameras. This system includes:- An articulated arm A supportive vest A specialized "sled" that holds the camera equipment - Flycam 6000 Pro Tripod Stand Adapter plate PACKING The Magic Arm and Flycam 6000 is packed in grey foam to save the shipment from damages during transition. The grey foam is packed in a black bag. The black bag with grey foam is secure and comfortable for carrying the product during shooting. Magic Arm The purpose of the Support Arm is to support the weight of the camera plus sled while isolating the sled from the motions of the operator. The arm consists of two segments called bones connected together with a pivoting hinge, two joint hinges, a vest connector, and a gimbal connector. It acts as an additional arm of the cinematographer / operator. Each arm segment is a sort of parallelogram with a spring-shock-absorbtion-system enclosed inside. Each arm is made up of two metal hollow cylinderical bars, fastened to two metal end-blocks. The lower bar in each arm segment is actually a hollow cylinder, with a large coiled spring inside. Just as with any parallelogram, the metal bars will remain parallel with each other (or nearly parallel) no matter how the arm is positioned. Since the end blocks are secured to the ends of the parallel bars, they will remain in the same position as the arm swings up and down. In practice, an unloaded arm has its bones in the highest position. It then deflects to a more or less level position (parallel to the ground) as the camera and sled combination is attached to the end of the arm. This position is known as the neutral position and is where the sled naturally wants to float. Additional force must be applied to boom the arm either up or down and to keep it from the neutral position. Our arm requires the same amount of force to boom the arm along its entire range of motion and the arm will stay at any vertical position that you desire without any additional force. You can see that the spring keeps the bone in its current shape. Without the spring, the bone would just flop down under its own weight. If a mass was attached to the end of the bone, the bone would deflect down and as it does the length of the diagonal increases. Since the spring is placed along this diagonal, it stretches and exerts a resisting force. The weight of the mass exactly equals the force of the spring because the bone has stopped deflecting. The articulated arm essentially acts as a shock absorber for the camera sled. When the cameraman moves, the base of the arm moves as well. But the spring system in the rest of the arm responds to the weight of the sled. Instead of a sharp jolt, the camera shifts its position smoothly. The arm also frees up the cameraman's hands -- it hangs directly on the vest, so the cameraman doesn't have to do anything to hold the camera sled up. He or she can concentrate on positioning the camera to get the best shot. When the body of the cameraman jerks, camera glides. Magic Vest The padded support vest has three attachment points for its suspension system plus a wide lower 2 inch cushioned "belt" secured by velcro. Vest has five buckles, whole body pod 2 inch cushioned and a standard arm connector. For added strength and durability arm connectors are made of aluminium. Basically, you'll spend a few minutes the first time you put this thing on in order to get it comfortable. Once you've tightened all the straps, you shouldn't have to change anything (unless somebody else wears it)... just use the quick-release buckles to slip it on and off. You need one-time adjustment for all. The articulating arm screwed right on to its socket, so you're not stuck with that thing banging around when you're taking a break between shots. Magic Arm & Vest Specifications Aluminium Fabricated Body Powder Coated Consists of 24 Bearings Smart, Comfortable, & Cushioned Vest Jacket Detachable Arm & Vest Magic Arm & Vest incorporates advanced engineering and precision machining, making it the most sophisticated system in it's price range. Consists of high-tension springs to regulate weight of the camera. Springs operated by high-tensile wire through pulley situated inside the arm. Stabilizer Most hand-held shots suffer from a distinct jerkiness. Undesired shocks of walking consist of two elements: quick movement of the entire camera by a small amount, and rotation of the camera itself (tilt, pan, and roll). Successful isolation will significantly reduce the size of both types of movement. Our steadicam features:- Universal Camera base plate Adjustable Gimbal Weight holding plate Weights for balancing your camera. Gimbal specifications:- 1. Wheelbarrow bearing provides Rotational control over camera so the camera can be easily rotated on its axis. 2. Grip swavels left and right from the bolt. You can easily move whole steadicam up and down. 3. Angle bracket enables grip to move up and down. The camera is mounted on one end of the 'Post', and the battery and monitor (and whatever special electronics the operator has added) are mounted to the other end. Now,the weight of the camera and the battery and monitor can be balanced to keep them at a greater distance from the 'gimbal'. The added distance (and weight) means that the camera moves much faster when rotated at the gimbal -- just like the outer edge of a record moves much faster than the inner edge at the spindle. Since the camera moves faster at the end of the post than it would if mounted at the gimbal, it takes more effort to rotate the camera. (This is why high-wire walkers use a very long pole to help them balance -- instead of increasing weight, they increase length, so the pole increases stability much more than just sticking their arms straight out to their sides) Universal camera base plate with quick release clamp The Camera Base plate has both 1/4" and 3/8" mounting slots (holes) to accommodate all variety of camera bases. You can slide your camera with base plate of steadicam on both the horizontal and vertical axes, achieved by means of thumbscrews and a movable camera base plate. Picture is showing x-axis movement. The Camera Base plate has both 1/4" and 3/8" mounting screws to accommodate all variety of camera bases. This helps in setting the camera even more easily. The quick release system uses a lever operated clamp. To mount the camera, you press the lever to lock open a cam-like lock. Now mount the camera to the plate with the help of screws provided. You then slide the plate into the clamp's front flanges and press it down in back to push down a pin that closes the cam to lock the plate into position. You can slide a plate in only one end of the clamp and out the same (unidirectional). You can slide a long plate back and forth in the channel to adjust the camera-subject distance. Gross balancing and composition adjustments can be achieved by sliding the plate within the jaws of the clamp with a movement range of up to 24mm. Fine adjustment is made with the lead screw; lead screw delivers 1.25mm of travel per full revolution. Balancing the camera The base of the stabilizing system is made up of heavy aluminium that exerts weights. Main function of these weights is to balance your camera on this stablizer. You can hold lcd monitor at one side of the Flycam Pro 6000.The idea of holding screen at another side of post is that the eye does not touch the camera in order to transfer shock to video. Therefore, the searcher picture is transferred by means of a internal wiring (wiring is done from inside the post). There are slots in post for this very purpose) to the monitor so that person operating this system can walk or run without giving any shock to this system. The monitor and battery mount is stronger easier to flip for low mode and has a wider range of positions, both vertically and horizontally.
