Description
Selling one of my trusty Panasonic Varicams. I love the Varicam, I love it so much I bought two, but now that I have added two HDX900s and a RED to my stable, the second (my newest one) Varicam gets little use, and, since I need money to buy lenses for the RED, I decided to part with one of my Varicams. This is the H model, which is the newest model of the camera. The H is a big improvement over the F, especially when it comes to noise in the blacks. The reason that I bought the H was that I noticed the HDX900s where better than the Varicam F in the blacks, that is, until Panasonic brought out the H. Mind you, the HDX900 is a very nice camera for the money, but the Varicam H is noticeably better in the blacks and in color reproduction in general, especially the reds. The Varicam is arguably the best camera out there for skin tones and earth tones, which is why it is so popular with talent and so great for documentary work. The camera I am selling, as you can see from the photographs, looks new. It seems to also be dead pixel free. I could find no marks on it except maybe a little scuff on the handle. It also has really low hours. Operation 40x10, Drum 14x10, Threading 400x10 (the hours that matters are the drum hours, which is how much tape has gone through the heads). I have seen B stock cameras with a lot more use than this. It is out of the factory's one year warranty, I have had it for just over a year, but I haven't had any issues with it whatsoever, and my other Varicam is older and has been issue free also. I am selling the body, viewfinder and camera mic only, all in it's original packing. The pictures show also a Canon 8x5.5 Cine Style HD lens, which is a perfect match for this camera, and the best lens I found out there for it, and a Chrosziel rod support system. Both these items are available at an additional $15,000 if you buy the camera. Otherwise, the lens is available on it's own for $16,000. It is a great HD lens, it does not breath or ramp at all, and it is a current lens. People often confuse it with Canon's early HD lenses which also had the shorter range (8x). This lens has the shorter range on purpose, it is essentially a 11x4.7, but they cut out the corners where the 11x performs less than ideally, to make this sweet little number. Or if you prefer a ENG style lens, for the same $15,000 more you can purchase a brand new looking (not a mark on it at all) Fujinon HA 16x6.3BERM ENG style HD zoom lens (no Chrosziel rods included with this lens, you don't need them. they go with the 8x5.5 because you need them for that lens). This is Fujinon's latest, with an ideal range. It is still in the box. Or you can have that lens by itself for $16,000. Please feel free to contact me with questions, and you can read more about my company if you visit my page: lennywood.com Thanks you for your visit. PS Being that this is such a high price item, I would prefer, if it's at all possible, to do the deal in person. That way you could examine the camera before you took it, and we could go to the bank together and do a money transfer. I'm sure you would not mind a little vacation in Los Angeles, no? Also, if you choose to use paypal/credit card for payment, we would have to add the percentage they charge to the total. This was the only way I could keep the price of the camera under $30,000
